Happy Fake Friday everyone! I don't have much to talk about today so it'll be short and sweet. Just to let everyone know, TSG is having a fundraiser. We are selling $25, $50, $100, or your choice of increment Sobeys gift cards. They are a great Christmas present idea or they're also nice to have in your wallet. If you are interested or have any questions you can either leave a comment below or contact me on Facebook. You can also message my mom if that works for you. Your support is very much appreciated by me and my fellow team mates. Training wise, I don't have much to say other then the second half of the routine is coming along quite well and I am very excited to see what else is placed in the routine. Other then that have a great long weekend and I will update again next Thursday!

So the weekend has finally come! Team Saskatchewan is training in Warman at the highschool. Unfortunately I am not able to participate because I am stuck with a fever. I still get to watch so that's okay. This weekend we get to learn new choreography for the second half of the routine which by the way, is very exciting. I'm interested to see what the choreography is going to be like for this last half. So I have been counting down the days until World Gymnaestrada and they are going by very fast. We are  down to 312 days until we leave for Finland so it's coming up extremely quick. I guess that's all for now. I will update again on Thursday. Have a good weekend everybody!

Hi everyone! I am so sorry I haven't been posting regularly. Anyways, this is the last week of my summer holidays and I am stoked for next weekend to start. I can't believe we are already on our second year of Team Sask training! This past year went by extremely fast but I have a feeling that this coming up year is going to go by even faster. I am very excited to see what kind of things the coaches have up their sleeves for the last half of our routine and I hope all of you are excited to watch us perform it. I think that's all for this week. Remember, if you have any questions for me you can leave them in the comments below and I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can. P.S. I promise next weeks post will be longer. Have a good long weekend everyone! :)

We will be performing 3 times at World Gymnaestrada. We have also been invited to perform at PAGU (Pan American Gymnastics Union) which is a huge deal! We have our first training camp on September 6th and 7th in Warman. I am super excited for the season to start. It's nice to have a break in the summer but I miss getting gym time so badly! Hello once again! Sorry I didn't post yesterday. It completely slipped my mind. Anyways, I once again don't have much to talk about other then I  start training in the gym in less then a month!! I am so excited to see everyone on Team Sask. again. We have our first training camp of year 2 in Warman so that's pretty sweet. This year, I have gymnastics 4 days a week. Half of it is coaching while the other half is training. It may seem weird but I love having a busy schedule! Being on the go all the time is what I live for. Well, that's basically all for today so I will update my posts again on Thursday. Oh I have one more thing I wanted to mention! This Saturday, August 16th, I amhaving a fundraiser BBQ at the new RBC branch in Warman. We will be there from 10-2. If you buy a burger from us, you get entered for a chance to win tickets to the Sports Celebrity Dinner on August 28th. Hope to see you there!

It's hard to believe that it is already August! It's been a little over a month since I got back from Canadian Gymnaestrada in Calgary. It's also crazy that there is only one more month before our first training weekend of year 2 for Team Saskatchewan.
Although I was away at camp for 5 days, I kept up with my training and cardio while I was there. Throughout the 5 days, I was in the water for 12 hours, went hiking, walking, and did many relay races. Once I got home, I had my first summer practice and we had a photographer from Bridges Magazine come to the class and take pictures while we were training. It was pretty amazing having a camera pointed at you almost all the time! It's something that we are definitely not used to. I've been trying to keep doing my conditioning and summer challenges. I don't really have much more to tell you. Oh actually I have one more thing. This doesn't involve Team Saskatchewan but this year I will be on the Orchids group (15-17 years) for the first time AND I'm coaching 5 groups!! It'll be another busy season but totally worth it. Anyways, please keep checking my blog for new posts every Thursday!
Bye :)

Wednesday, 30 July 2014

Hey guys!
I thought it would be a good idea to let you know what has been going on this past training year. I tried out for Team Saskatchewan in May 2013 and found out I made the team in June 2013. We had our first day of training at the beginning of September 2013. We didn't learn any choreography that day but it was just a chance to get back into our routine of training. Our first training weekend occurred mid September of 2013 and that was the first day of learning new choreography and skills. (I forgot to mention how long our weekend training sessions are in my last post. They usually end up being 6 hours with a 15 minute water break and a 30 minute lunch break in between.) After many months of weekly practices and monthly weekend training sessions, our first performance was held at Northern Gala in Saskatoon, at the end of March. All in all, we did an amazing job and our coaches were very proud of the team. But just because we did great at our performance didn't mean we got to take it easy at practices. After training through April and a bit of May, we were faced with our last performance before we headed off to Calgary for Canadian Gymnaestrada. I, unfortunately got the flu the day before our last performance so I didn't get to perform at Provincial Gymnaestrada, but from what I heard the team did great and we were soon off to Canadians. We had one more weekend of training in June and then we were off! On June 29th we all arrived at Hotel Alma on the University of Calgary grounds. Everyone was so excited to finally be there. The next day we had our dress rehearsal and the stands were almost full. It's amazing to think that this is just your practice for the performance next day and people are still wanting to come and watch you. So, that day was successful. July 1st was when it got really real. We had our very first performance for all of the adjudicators and audience members. Once again, we did fantastic! We got a standing ovation from the crowd and there were parents and coaches almost in tears. But just because we were great the one day, didn't mean we were allowed to slack off for the next 3-4 performances. We had to be just as good if not better. Thankfully we didn't have to perform more then twice in a day because it's nice to be performing but it's also awesome to watch the other routines. Although watching them did get me nervous at times because there were some amazing groups that were going for the same spot as we were. Anyways, the days went by very fast and in no time we were asked to close off the closing ceremonies!! (That's a good thing) At Canadians, it is not arranged by 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. It is arranged by who performs at closing ceremonies. Long story short, we "won" Nationals and are now moving on to Worlds/Internationals. Well, I think I have written enough for the day so have a great week everyone and chat next Thursday when I update "My Journey to World Gymnaestrada 2015" Bye! :)
